Tried the 7th storey steamboat at the Marina Barrage and the standard dropped so much compared to the one at the Bugis (before they shifted to this new place).
In order to save the hassle we ordered the set meal ...the steamboat was very fishy.... that's why everyone juz take a small portion of the soup. Under usual circumstances of eating steamboat, we would have added so many servings of soup cos we simply love the steamboat soup.
The steam chicken which is supposed to be famous too is hard, tasteless and cold. Nothing compared to Five Star. We specially add this dish to our set meal since is their speciality. The crispy garlic chicken is also not crispy at all. Only the veg is reasonable.
The lighting is poor and we even resort to using our Iphone to shine onto the soup and retrieve the bones from the fish. Nothing is being done to salvage the situation though we "ask for help"!
The service is poor and our extra plates and bowls never come though we request for a few times.
Anyway, dun think will ever patronise this place anymore. This is the 1st time my dad actually voice out his disappointment in the food cos he is always very easy going when it comes to food.
Everything doesnt seems to go well that nite. I specially ordered a Sugar-less black forest cake for my mum on Mother's day. The look of the cake is good but the taste??? Dunno how to describe ... it is as hard as rock. My brother in law says it taste like brownie or bread more like a cake. So disappointing cos the reviews of the cake in the website are very good. Nevertheless my mum still enjoyed it cos she had not eaten cakes for years due to her diabetic condition. Guess she is the only one who likes it or maybe she doesnt wan disappoint me.
A very bad day on this Mother's day.
